Learning English fast!
"I'm sure I made the right choice to study at Global Village in Victoria", writes Yvonne Sin, a student from Hong Kong. Yvonne recently joined our English + home tuition program which gives students 20 lessons per week of General English classes in school and 10 lessons per week of private lessons at home. |

"My program includes home tuition, which means my homestay parents are also my private tutors. I have private lessons at home everyday. They focus on my weak areas and I can ask for detailed explanations if I misunderstand anything from the school's lesson. By staying with them, I’m learning English all the time", Yvonne enthuses. "They’re not only helping me with my English, but also looking after me during my stay in Victoria. My host mother cooks delicious meals and my host father takes me for excursions on the weekends. I'm glad I've been staying with them."
Yvonne also felt she benefited from her time in school: "GV is a great school. The teachers and support staff are all very kind and helpful. The classes at GV are small, giving students more opportunities to raise questions or give opinions. Because students here are different nationalities, I can learn their cultures and improve English by making friends with them." Yvonne’s final verdict: "If you’re looking for a place to study English, I highly recommend that you come here – GV Victoria." |
What's GV Victoria's most popular school activity?
Whale watching! Vancouver Island is well-known as a great place to view both resident and migrating whales, and now is the best time to see the orcas that live in the waters around the island.
As well as these awe-inspiring giant creatures, you may also be lucky enough to find sea lions, seals and a huge variety of sea birds. Truly an unforgettable experience. |
