GV Toronto gets into the Halloween Spirit!

Halloween is always a fun time of year at GV Toronto – there are lots of spooky activities, treats, and silly costumes! Students from around the world embrace this chance to dress up and act a little crazy!

A trip to Paramount Canada's Wonderland on Saturday for "Halloween Haunt" kicked off this scary season for Global Village Toronto students. About 40 of them braved bone-chilling mazes with over 300 live "creatures" lurking within. The fun continued during the week with pumpkin carving, a Halloween party at Momentos (a popular local club), a costume parade and contest at school and a boat cruise party.

Over 30 students gathered after class to carve 12 pumpkins that then lined the breakfast bar in the 3rd floor lounge. They were a great backdrop for the parade later in the week. Both students and staff dressed up in costumes ranging from pirates and princesses to babies and witches and wizards!

After the costume parade, all students voted for their favorite male and female student and favorite male and female staff costumes. Joel and Pascal from Switzerland won for dressing up as Homer Simpson ketchup bottles; Evelyn from Switzerland won for her scary vampire costume. Matthew, our intern won best male staff as a personal trainer and Natalie, the activities coordinator won best female staff costume.

Later on Halloween night, over 50 GVT students joined other language school students for a costume party boat cruise on Lake Ontario – what a way to end a great day!
