NOOSA, AUSTRALIA

Big win to Caloundra in Tri-Shield

Students at GV's Queensland schools gathered this month to contest the inaugural GV Queensland Tri-Shield, a competitive football competition between GV Brisbane, GV Noosa and GV Noosa (Caloundra Campus).

Each school fielded competitive teams made up of students from all over the world. Early favourites GV Brisbane, studded with classy ball-playing Brazilians, bowed out early in the competition after a close loss to an efficient Caloundra side, and a barrage of goals from a blistering Noosa outfit.

GV Noosa on the attack against GV Brisbane

The final saw Noosa and Caloundra campuses facing off in what looks set to be an ongoing rivalry. While Noosa had all the early running, a late penalty and a scorching against-the-run-of-play breakaway goal to Caloundra had the game progress into a nail-biting golden goal period.

To the delight of a partisan home crowd, Caloundra triumphed over a tiring Brisbane side to claim victory.

The celebratory BBQ was enjoyed by all, and the party continued late into the night.
