GV Victoria’s Work Experience Program's a Success

Victoria is a smaller city than Toronto or Vancouver, but there are a number of businesses and local employers who are eager to accept unpaid interns and paid workers. To date, GV students in the Career English Diploma and Workplace English Diploma programs have been involved in some interesting work experiences:

  • Marketing / media buying agency
  • Movie theatre
  • Flower and plant greenhouse
  • Souvenir Store
  • Coffee and sandwich shops

GV Victoria is happy to present our first Career English Diploma graduate, Chloe, from Korea. Chloe came to GV with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a strong interest in marketing.  Her title during the 8-week internship was “Production Assistant.” Chloe tells the school that her internship was a great experience. She enjoyed working at the media buying agency because “I was working with kind and nice people. I was very satisfied with my internship.”

Chloe’s host company was equally impressed with her work. According to her supervisor, Chloe greeted clients in person and on the phone; reviewed entries for a photo contest; conducted online research; updated a client database; and acted as a personal assistant to the President during a brand workshop.

Supervisors of GV Victoria’s students really appreciate their “superb attitudes” and work ethic. If you are looking for an exciting challenge, join GV Victoria’s internship or paid work experience programs.
