What is the GV International Experience Canada (IEC) program?
Are you interested in expanding your skills in English to be more effective in the job market? Are you looking for an upgrade to your ability to communicate? Are you planning to gain valuable work experience in Canada? Then join us for the Global Village IEC Study and Work Package!
This is 12 weeks of English study, plus an IEC Work Permit nomination letter.

The online option is open only to individuals who are currently in Canada. Proof of residency is required. Students may not start their studies before arrival in Canada.
** Students must be at GV Level 4 to be eligible for the work placement option

Students in the Study & Work package can choose part-time or full time study (morning, afternoon, or evening) to fit their schedule best.
Morning: In-person studies (08:45-12:20 M-F)
Afternoon: In-person studies (13:05-15:30 M-Th)
Evening: Online studies (18:00-21:00 T-Th, offered from our Calgary location)
Cohort 1: February 24 to May 14, 2026
Cohort 2: April 21 to July 9, 2026
If you're not located in Calgary or Victoria where our campuses are, that's not a problem! We have online evening courses available for anyone currently residing in Canada.
Working in Canada
Canada has a vibrant job market with a wide range of positions. The Global Village Study & Work package gives the opportunity to apply for a working holiday work permit, which is an unlimited work permit for one or two years (depending on your country). It’s not connected to a specific employer, so you can work in any job you like. In the past, work permit holders who have been students at Global Village have taken jobs in a wide variety of positions, including in tourism and adventure companies, retail, fine and casual dining, and service work.
