#5 – Academic Pathways &
Permanent Residency
Several options are available to students who wish to remain in Canada permanently after completing your English language studies, post-secondary education and post-graduation work experience in Canada.
Global Village Pathway students who proceed to post-secondary diploma or degree programs at a designated learning institution (DLI) in Canada may qualify for a post-graduate work permit (PGWP). The PGWP provides students with the opportunity to gain international experience, skills, and income upon graduation.
Please note that no programs at Global Village are eligible for a post-graduate work permit.
There are several immigration programs available to gain permanent residency (PR) in Canada. Because requirements and programs can change, it is always important to check the official websiteof Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for the most up-to-date information.

🎓 Carlotta von Fintel was here for even shorter – 2 weeks! Lotti made the most of her time though and had lots of fun making friends, learning English and exploring the lovely surroundings! She told us she will be back in summer – we hope so!!
🎓 Aline Gomez Duran is leaving us after a massive 28 weeks. She made such progress here and also influenced us with her glamourous style and philosophical discussions! We hope to see her here again – she’s part of the family!!

🎓 Grecia Jacqueline Arriola Aldana has been a familiar figure here at GV because she was studying here for 24 weeks! She made lots of friends and had a lot of good times and we wish her the best as she returns to Mexico!
🎓 Rubia dos Santos Ronzini was only here for 2 weeks but made a great impression . I’m sure she’s made friends that would love to visit her and her family on her beautiful island in Brasil.

🎓One of our favourite students, Issei Kawanishi graduated today – Issei was here for a year and could hardly speak the language when he arrived – but he worked hard and combined his studies with a passion for vintage clothing and hanging out with friends. A year later and he has vastly improved his skills and made many, many friends as well as built a large collection of awesome memories (and clothes). He will be missed!! Good luck Issei!!
🎓 Aina Kuwata is another Japanese student we are saying goodbye to this week – she needs to return to university and will be off to Japan soon. Bon Voyage Aina – we hope you’ll miss us!!
🎓 Naoki Kaneko has also been with us for a long time, but Naoki will be staying a little longer and trying to get a working holiday visa to improve his English even more. We’re glad Naoki will still be around to hang out and share good times with.
Welcome back, Freddy! 🇨🇴✨ We absolutely love it when our alumni come back to visit. Freddy started his journey with us back in 2018 with zero English. With a lot of hard work and the help of his amazing teacher, Karen, he gained the skills he needed to succeed. Fast forward to today—he has graduated from SAIT with a Hospitality Management diploma and is out enjoying life in Banff! 🏔️
