Canadian Buddies!
Global Village is running ESL summer programs for international students ages 10 to 17 and we are looking for mature, curious and outgoing local “buddies” between the ages of 12 and 17 to join our students on activities and excursions. This is a great opportunity to begin developing leadership skills and meet students from Asia, Latin America and Europe.
Your Role: What Does a Buddy Do?
As a Buddy, you won't just be a bystander - you are a key part of the daily energy. Your main day-to-day interactions include:
Daily Briefings & Icebreakers: Meet up with group leaders every afternoon to review the day's plans, and then lead fun icebreaker activities to help international students mingle and socialize.
Exploring & Chaperoning: Join students on exciting afternoon excursions to local spots.
Language & Culture Sharing: Help international peers practice their English in real-world settings by initiating conversations and sharing your unique knowledge of local life.

Parents' Corner: Safety & Support
We know that safety is your top priority, and it is ours, too. Every single scheduled afternoon activity and excursion is fully chaperoned by experienced Global Village staff members. To ensure a safe, organized, and positive environment, all Buddies are required to follow structured program rules, stay within designated campus areas, and work directly under the guidance of our program coordinators and directors.
