Winter Storm Safety Notice | Global Village Victoria

There is a Winter Storm Warning on coastal Vancouver Island today.
Environment Canada expects heavy snow and freezing rain to fall over 2 days.

• Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations.
• Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
• Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
• Please use extreme caution if you need to go outdoors.

Global Village Victoria is taking precautions to protect the health and safety of our students, teachers, staff and the community.

The school will transition to live, virtual classes for two days this week:

• Thursday, January 06, 2022
• Friday, January 07, 2022

Teachers will review the instructions for connecting to GV LIVE classrooms from home, so that all students can continue meeting their classmates and instructors without interruption.

Canada’s borders continue to be open for international student travel and Global Village operations are functioning normally. Students scheduled to arrive this weekend will be welcomed as per usual procedure, with a Welcome Orientation on Monday, January 10.
