Are you looking for a unique way to earn some extra income while also experiencing different cultures and making new connections? Global Village Homestay Victoria might be just the opportunity for you.
By hosting international students through Global Village, you not only provide them with a comfortable and welcoming home away from home, but you also get the chance to learn about their customs and traditions. An added bonus? Homestay hosts receive compensation for their hospitality. But the benefits don’t stop there. Hosting can also improve your communication skills, expand your worldview, and even teach you new languages. Plus, with Global Village’s support, you can feel confident in your role as a host and know that you’re part of a community dedicated to cultural exchange and mutual respect. So why not open your home and your heart to students from around the world with Homestay in Victoria and Global Village?
One of the most significant benefits of hosting international students is the opportunity to learn about different cultures. By welcoming students from around the world into your home, you’ll be immersed in different languages, customs, and traditions. This exposure can teach you about different ways of life, broaden your worldview, and promote cultural understanding and respect.
Hosting students can also be an opportunity for your own personal growth. You’ll have the chance to learn new things, try new foods, and experience different perspectives. You may even develop lasting friendships with your students, leading to future travel opportunities and cultural exchanges for yourself and your family.
Children, in particular, benefit from exposure to different cultures, languages, and traditions. Hosting fosters a greater sense of empathy and understanding for people from different backgrounds, which can be valuable life tools.
Aside from the cultural and personal benefits, hosting international students through Global Village can also provide a source of income. Homestay hosts receive compensation for their hospitality, which can help offset the costs of living or provide additional income.
The amount of compensation varies depending on the length of stay, whether or not meals are provided, and other factors.
Hosting international students can be a relatively low-maintenance way to earn income. Unlike a traditional rental property, you won’t have to deal with long-term leases or maintenance requests. Global Village takes care of the logistics of matching students with hosts, so you can focus on providing a comfortable and welcoming home.

🌞 It`s a sunny graduation day here at Global Village! 🎓
No matter how nice the weather is, it doesn`t change the fact that we are sad to see these awesome students go...
Mustafa Turkdonmez from Turkey spent 22 weeks with us. His teachers have said he is such a nice guy and such a hard worker, despite working and balancing his family life as well.
Dayeon Kim from Korea spent even longer – 26 weeks - here at GV Victoria! Her teachers loved her and she made lots of friends here. Always good news!
We also want to wish Miho Sunaka the best of luck after 21 weeks here. It’s a long time and we’re glad she enjoyed it!

A special thanks to our GV staff and Students who really got in the spirit and showed their solidarity with the anti-bullying message.

It`s another exciting Graduation day at Global Village!🎉
Rainy days are not always bad but we feel sad on graduation day when our friends are leaving and it’s raining outside! This week’s grads included:
Shinnosuke Seike from Japan. Shinnosuke was a star here for his 4 weeks. Both his teachers and classmates loved him. He will be returning to Japan to work in a bank but hopes to return to Victoria in the future.
Evelyn Hernandez Mut was also at the GV5 level – she has been here for an impressive 24 weeks and improved a lot as a result. She will be returning to Mexico and university! Best of luck Evelyn!
Eva Gouraud joined us from France for 5 weeks. Her smile was always a bit of sunshine on those rainy winter days! She will be moving to Vancouver to work as an au pair before returning to France. Best wishes Eva!
Shion Takamura has been with us for 5 weeks and graduated at the GV 7 level. She was known for her great sense of styler and award-winning smiles! We wish her the best of luck in her new adventures.
Haeyoung Cho also graduated at the GV 7 level. She is planning on travelling in the United States following graduation. We hope she has a great time!
Also finishing at the GV7/8 level, Loane Currat will be returning to Switzerland, but we will see her back here soon - I think Vancouver Island has made a good impression on her!
